Father stabs son in Murcia after argument over motorcycle

A 25-year-old construction worker was injured after he was allegedly stabbed multiple times by his father in Murcia, Negros Occidental late Tuesday night, May 12.

Police identified the suspect as alias “Vic,” 51, a sugarcane worker and resident of Brgy. Sta. Rosa.

The victim, who is the suspect’s son, is also a resident of the same barangay.

Initial investigation by Murcia Municipal Police Station showed the suspect arrived home after a drinking session with relatives and confronted his son over a motorcycle.

Police said the suspect questioned the victim for frequently changing motorcycle spare parts, which led to an altercation.

The argument escalated when the suspect allegedly took a bolo and stabbed the victim several times.

Neighbors and relatives later pacified the father.

The victim was rushed to the Murcia Health Center and was later referred to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City for further treatment.

The Murcia police arrested the suspect in a pursuit operation and recovered the bolo allegedly used in the incident.

The suspect is now under police custody.*
