Father hacks son to death, STL agent kills senior citizen

A senior citizen and a 4-year-old child were hacked to death in separate incidents in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, on Friday and Sunday, Dec. 22 and 24.

A 74-year-old man was allegedly hacked by a 38-year-old Small Town Lottery (STL) agent in Purok Paghidaet 2, Brgy. Tampalon, Kabankalan City, on Christmas eve.

The suspect identified as alias “Born” confronted the son of the victim and attempted to hack him.

The victim’s son evaded the hacker and sought help, while his father who was left behind was hacked by the suspect, who fled after the incident.

The victim was brought to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

Two days before Christmas eve, a 48-year-old man also hacked his 4-year-old son at their house in Purok Lucay 2, Brgy. Camingawan, Kabankalan City.

The victim was with his two brothers when his father told one of his siblings to go out of the house, the police reported.

The suspect locked the door, grabbed a bolo and suddenly hacked his child, while his other brother managed to escape through the window of their house.

The victim sustained multiple hack wounds on his body and was brought to the Lorenzo D. Zayco District Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

The suspect was arrested by the police and is now in the custody of Kabankalan City Police Station.*
