
A 32-year-old farmer was arrested after his 6-year-old daughter was killed in an accidental shooting at Hacienda Paul Chang, Estado, Brgy. 10, Victorias City, Negros Occidental, on Saturday, Aug. 30.
The police identified the suspect as Randy Montifalcon of Brgy. San Isidro, Calatrava, and the victim as his daughter.
Initial investigation showed that Montifalcon was at a drinking session with a friend at his temporary residence when he accidentally pulled the trigger of his firearm.
The bullet hit his daughter on the left side of her face.
The child was rushed to the Abelardo and Remedios Bantug Memorial Hospital in Victorias City but was declared dead by the attending physician.
Montifalcon was arrested by responding policemen and is now under the custody of the Victorias City Police Station.
He faces charges of parricide under Republic Act 7659.*
