A farmer, who also worked as a barangay tanod, died after he was shot in the head at his residence in Sitio Camao, Brgy. Marcelo, Calatrava, Negros Occidental, early Saturday morning, Dec. 9.
Angelo Dela Cruz, 48, was sleeping with his family, when he was awakened by the voice of about five unidentified armed men, the police reported Sunday.
When the victim went outside to check, he was grabbed by the suspects who asked for his firearm.
The suspects then shot the victim on his head and fled bringing along with them a handheld radio, handcuffs, and identification card.
The victim was brought to the Calatrava Municipal Health Office but was declared dead on arrival.
The police found a cartridge of a .45 caliber pistol from the crime scene.*
