The 79th Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army and the Bureau of Internal Revenue confiscated 12,000 packs of fake and smuggled cigarettes in an operation at the Escalante City Public Market on Thursday, June 20.
The raid was initiated by the BIR while the 79IB troopers secured the vicinity of the market.
Also present during the raid were Bryl Sobrejuanite, Legal Division chief of the BIR Regional Office in Bacolod City, and personnel from Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office.*
