Twenty-five visual artists are currently holding a group exhibit titled “Paskua” at the Uyso Restaurant at San Juan-San Sebastian streets, Bacolod City that opened Saturday, December 12, and will run until January 12, 2021.

Bacolod Councilors Wilson Gamboa Jr. and Simplicia Distrito together with artist Bamboo Tunogbanua were guests of honor at the opening.

Gamboa, chairman of the Sangguniang Panlungsod Committee on Culture and Arts, encouraged the artists to continue their vision through their artworks which serves as a refuge in times of desperation or crisis. This is a hobby or worthwhile activity to do during lockdowns.

“Although the art industry has been adversely affected by this (COVID-10) crisis because we are dependent on visitors coming in to help the tourism industry, we hope things will eventually get better in 2021,” he added.

The art exhibit features the works of Jeck Alano, Efren Atienza, Roger Villalion Obat, Jehru Elisan, Gabriel Mendoza Gucuban, Agustin Chavez, Leo Carton, Getbackers Jumawan, Steve Maquiling, Zaldy Sendon, Ramon Delos Santos, Dann Gatucao, Julios Añasca, Samuel Espileta, Rusty Quiatchon, Mai-Mai Camarines, Chrysee Samillano, Carlito Barredo, Alfred Esparcia, Kenneth James Kanot, Peter Centino, Robert de Aro, Rolando Inson, Jojo Hidalgo and Ching Cuesta.*
