
A man and his 81-year-old mother were shot to death by unidentified suspects while passing through a sugarcane plantation in Sitio Lower Lauyan, Brgy. Dian-ay, Escalante City, Negros Occidental, at 8:45 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15.
Killed were alias “Virgilio”, 58, and his mother “Estelita”, 81, the police said.
Police investigation revealed that the victims were killed while passing through a dark area of a sugarcane plantation on their way home.
Estelita sustained a gunshot wound in the stomach, while Virgilio had multiple gunshot wounds on his body.
The suspects escaped while the victims were brought to the Alfredo Marañon Sr. Memorial District Hospital in Sagay City where they were declared dead.*
