An electrical ignition caused by the arcing on an electrical branch wire triggered the fire that destroyed eight houses and damaged seven at Manalo Street, Barangay 17, Bacolod City, on Friday, the Bacolod Fire Station reported on Sunday, Feb. 16.
The fire started from the second floor if a house owned by Rey Mirador, it said.
Damage was placed at P281,750.
There were 37 families with 78 members affected, Bacolod social welfare officer Richelle Verdeprado-Mangga said.
There were houses with more than one family residing, she said.*
