A 67-year-old man was found dead after allegedly drowning in a river in Brgy. Bacong, Bago City, Negros Occidental, on Wednesday morning, February 4.
The victim, a laborer and resident of Sitio Mambahao, Purok Maisan, was discovered floating face down in the river at around 9 a.m., the police said.
A witness noticed the body while walking along the riverbank on his way to feed his chickens and immediately reported the incident to the authorities.
Police added that the victim’s son told investigators that his father was brought home in the afternoon of Feb. 3 by an individual known as alias “Tongcua” after the victim reportedly became heavily intoxicated.
Responding police officers confirmed that the victim was already lifeless when found.*
