E.B. Magalona pavilion now open

The Municipality of E.B. Magalona welcomes guests and visitors to its Pavilion at the “MassKara sa Panaad” today [Oct. 10] until Sunday [Oct. 16].

The E.B. Magalona Pavilion showcases the town’s seafood, including the famous blue crabs, as well as its crafts and products during the weeklong activity.

The municipality is regarded as “The Blue Crab Capital of Negros Occidental.”
Mayor Marvin Malacon said residents of E. B. Magalona can avail of a 10-percent discount from the seafood and other products at the pavilion.

“Pamasyaran ta ang MassKara sa Panaad. Suportahan ta ang MassKara sa Panaad kag ibalik ang Yuhum sa Bacolod,” Malacon said.

ATTRACTIONS
Attractions in the Pavilion include replicas of the Municipal Hall, Tomongtong Mangrove Eco-Trail, Canlusong Falls, and the former fountain at the Public Plaza.

The ground floor features a photo exhibit showing the industries in the municipality such as bangus harvesting, paypay-making, panagat (fishing), coffee harvesting, and mangrove-planting.
The second floor houses the art exhibit of AGIS (Artists’ Guild in Saravia), featuring the more than 40 artwork of eight Saraviahanon artists, led by Ebdon Sevilleno.

The artwork—done in different types of media such as acrylic, watercolor, and enamel paint on glass—depict the landscapes, industries, and way of life in Saravia, the former name of E. B. Magalona.
One of the artists being featured at the exhibit, Sol Severino Alejandrino, a native of Barangay 2 of the town, is regarded as the only artist in Negros Occidental doing paint on glass.

Meanwhile, Ebdon Sevilleno is also doing quick portrait sketches at the Pavilion.
