President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed Psyche Marie “Pao” Sy as member of the Bacolod City Sangguniang Panlungsod.
Duterte in an order dated February 9 said he was appointing her to fill the seat vacated by her father, Councilor Elmer Sy, who succumbed to COVID-19 on June 25, 2021.
Pao Sy took her oath as councilor before Singcang Airport Barangay Captain Rosinie Distritio at the residence of mayoral candidate Albee Benitez at Mountain View Subdivision in Bacolod City, Friday night, February 18.
She is running for councilor under the Asenso Bacolod ticket of Benitez.
Sy said she is happy that she will be able to fill the vacated seat of her father, which was his dying wish.
Sy hopes to continue the unfinished projects of her father and to push for the creation of a Bacolod City blood bank.*
