A 33-year-old dump truck driver died after the vehicle he was driving fell off a cliff in Hacienda Martesan, Brgy. Tinampa-an, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental, on Monday, March 2.
The victim, identified only as alias “Ading,” was driving a Mitsubishi Canter mini dump truck delivering construction materials in the area.
Investigation showed that the driver maneuvered the vehicle in reverse but miscalculated the clearance, causing the truck to fall off a cliff.
The helper, alias “Regie,” 29, who was with the driver at the time, reported the incident to police along with the driver’s live-in partner.
Cadiz City Rescue personnel rushed the injured driver to the Cadiz City Emergency Clinic where he was declared dead.
Police said the truck sustained heavy damage, with the extent of the cost yet to be determined.*
