A driver died while two others were injured when a tricycle and motorcycle collided along the road at Sitio Narra, Brgy. Tabugon, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, Saturday, Jan. 25.
Norgen Casintahan, 47, driver of a “kulong-kulong” tricycle, died while his backrider Jelmar Guardario, 48, was injured in a collision with a motorcycle driven by Dranreb Baylon, 36, who also sustained minor injuries.
Casintahan, who was allegedly drunk, was driving fast when he suddenly evaded a rough section of the road and occupied the opposite lane, the police said.
He subsequently went back to his lane when Baylon tried to evade them but hit the left side of the “kulong-kulong” causing Casintahan and Guardario to fall on the pavement and sustain injuries, the police added.
They were brought to a hospital in Kabankalan City but Casintahan was declared dead, while Guardario was referred to the Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital for further treatment.
Baylon is now under police custody.*
