There are five properties being donated to the government for the site of the Bacolod City General Hospital, Bacolod Rep. Greg Gasataya said Tuesday, September 7.
The five sites are at barangays Vista Alegre, Felisa, Alijis-Pahanocoy, Bata and one is in a still undisclosed area, Gasataya said.
No site has been selected yet.
Gasataya said he cannot name the owners of the properties as he does not have their permission.
The Vista Alegre property is about 3.5 hectares, while the other donors have not disclosed the sizes of the properties they are offering, he added.
Gasataya reiterated that House Speaker Lord Allan Velasco has committed to provide more funds for the construction of the Bacolod District Hospital.
Velasco did not state the amount but asked him to submit a letter and the perspective of the hospital, Gasataya said.
Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri has also allocated an additional P200 million for the Bacolod City General Hospital.
The P200 million will be on top of the P600 million stipulated in the law on the hospital’s creation, he said.
Republic Act 11564 that directs the creation of the hospital was based on bills authored by Zubiri in the Senate and Gasataya in the House of Representatives.*
