The P5,000 one-time cash assistance of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) for the displaced workers in the formal sector is back.
Bacolod City Rep. Greg Gasataya said today, November 3, that his office was informed by DOLE Region 6 that the department has an allocation of P157 million from the cash assistance program for Western Visayas displaced workers in the private sector.
Under Department Order No. 218-2020, that was approved on October 28, the second round of the COVID-19 Adjustment Measures Program (CAMP) will cover displaced workers, including probationary, project, seasonal, contractual, and casual employees in private health institutions, culture and arts, creative industries, broadcast, construction, public transportation, trade and industry, cooperatives and other sectors.
First to be given preference are the micro, small, and medium establishments (MSMEs) that applied for CAMP on or before April 15 but did not receive any financial assistance.
Also to be given preference are other private establishments that are not categorized as MSMEs that applied for CAMP on or before April 15 but did not get the cash aid.
DOLE also said that MSMEs that will apply for CAMP for the first time will be prioritized, as well as other private establishments that are not categorized as MSMEs that will apply for the first time.
Those excluded from the cash aid are government employees, except public education institution personnel, owners, top management, or workers with a monthly salary of P40,000 and above, foreign nationals, and beneficiaries of other government cash assistance.
All applicants must apply online through https://reports.dole.gov.ph/.
Applications will be evaluated by DOLE Region 6, which is based in Iloilo City, within seven working days.
A notice of approval or denial will be sent through e-mail within three working days after the lapse of the evaluation period.*
