The Department of Health has named the top five barangays in Bacolod City with the highest number of unimmunized children, City Administrator Em Ang said today, February 26.

The barangays are Tangub, Mansilingan, Villamonte, Singcang-Airport and Granada, she said.

WHO Consultant and Polio Surveillance Coordinator Dr. Sukadeo Neupane and the team from DOH Region 6 led by Project Development Officer III Grace Exmundo presented their evaluation and recommendations on the implementation of the Measles Rubella and Oral Polio Vaccine Supplemental Immunization Activity in Bacolod, at the city’s Emergency Operations Center today.

As of today, there is a 78.4 percent accomplishment for measles and rubella and 76.3 percent for polio, short of the target of 90 percent, Ang said.

“The program is still ongoing and we are calling on all parents to have their children aged 0-59 months vaccinated against measles, rubella and polio,” she added.*
