The Department of the Interior and Local Government is providing Bacolod with 90 additional contact tracers to sustain the city’s gains against COVID-19 and prevent a resurgence of cases, Dr. Chris Sorongon, Emergency Operations Center Task Force Deputy for Medical and Data Analysis, said today, February 10.
They are hoping the work of the 90 will not be limited to contact tracing and that they can also assist in the monitoring of BaCTrac and minimum health protocol compliance, he said.
The BaCTrac system is a web-based and mobile-based app developed for the efficient tracing of persons suspected of having had contact with COVID-19 positive patients.
At the height of the pandemic last year, the DILG also provided Bacolod City with about 300 additional contact tracers.
Sorongon said the EOC is set to submit its proposed BaCTRac ordinance amendments to the Sangguniang Panlungsod.
A “no BaCTrac, not entry “ rule is being proposed that will require everyone to use a BaCtrac ID to enter establishments in the city.
Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran said the proposed amendments have not reached the SP yet.
H e said amending the BaCTrac is under study to ensure that it does not violate the right to privacy.*
