The Cadiz District Hospital in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental, that was converted into a COVID-19 center at the height of the pandemic last year will soon resume its function as a regular hospital, Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said today, February 4.

The 150-bed Cadiz hospital had been tasked to serve only COVID-19 patients, but currently only has three patients who have tested positive for the virus, he said.

Diaz said with the drop in COVID-19 patients the hospital can now attend to patients suffering from other ailments, which will be good news for the people of the second district.

The provincial government is now finalizing its transition from a COVID-designated center to a regular hospital, he said.

If there are COVID-19 patients they can be accommodated at the hospital’s isolation section and annex building, he said.

The 50-bed Valladolid District Hospital in Valladolid town is also a COVID-19 center.*
