
There were 124 dengue cases in Bacolod City from Jan. 1 to Feb. 8 this year or a 96.8 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
There were 63 cases last year, the Bacolod City Health Office reported on Monday, Feb. 17.
The areas with the most number of cases this year are Mansilingan with 12, Tangub – 11 and Alijis, Singcang and Villamonte with 10 each.
The dengue virus is transmitted by day biting Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus mosquitoes.*
