Defeated mayoral bet in Dumaguete facing homicide raps

A defeated mayoral candidate in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental, is facing criminal charges after he figured in an accident that killed a 6-year-old girl on Election Day, May 9.

Rene Ledesma, who is also a manager of a radio station in the city, was charged with reckless imprudence resulting in homicide after he hit a girl while he was backing up his pickup truck at Barangay Bajumpandan.

The victim was rushed to the hospital but she was declared dead on arrival.*
