There are 52,375 people in the Negros Island Region who registered to vote from October 20 to December 20 for the Barangay and Sangguniang Elections on Nov. 2, 2026, a Commission on Elections official said Monday.
The highest number of registrants were in Negros Occidental at 35,538 followed by Negros Oriental with 16,076 and Siquijor with 761.
The last day for voter registration for December is Tuesday, Dec. 23, COMELEC Regional Director Lionel Marco Castillano said.
They will resume voter registration on January 5, he said.
Castillano said they need to push the voter registration campaign because if they rely only on those who go to their offices, few people will register.
He hopes that those who wish to register will not wait for the last minute to register.
Voter registration for the Barangay and SK elections will run until May 18.*
