The Department of Agriculture is preparing its roadmap for the Negros Island Region, Jose Albert Barrogo, OIC regional executive director of the DA-NIR, said on Tuesday, Oct. 15.
Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. appointed Barrogo NIR OIC-regional executive director on October 4. He was formerly DA regional technical director for operations in Western Visayas.
Laurel also appointed Alejandro Rafall NIR OIC Regional Technical Director for Operations and Extensions.
A separate special order was also issued for the establishment of a DA NIR regional transition team to set up their interim organizational structure and to outline financial requirements that will be submitted to the secretary for approval, Barrogo said.
The temporary DA NIR office is located at their satellite office behind the Land Bank of the Philippines in Bacolod, he said.*
