Covid hits 12 vaccinators, two mall vax sites closed

The Bacolod City government’s vaccination sites at two malls have been temporarily closed after 12 symptomatic vaccinators tested positive for COVID-19, Em Ang, Emergency Operations Center executive director, said Friday, January 21.

Closed were the vaccination sites at SM City and at Ayala Malls Capitol Central, but they are scheduled to reopen on Tuesday, January 25, she said.

The COVID-19 vaccination drive is still ongoing in barangays and other malls in the city, she said.

Meanwhile, two unvaccinated Bacolod residents succumbed to COVID-19, a report on Thursday showed.

One was a 20-year-old pregnant woman who did not immediately seek medical help. When the woman finally was brought to a hospital it was too late, her oxygen saturation was already very low, Ang said.

The other COVID-19 hit unvaccinated Bacolodnon who died was a man suffering from cirrhosis of the liver, she added.

Bacolod City had 193 new COVID-19 cases for a total of 1,335 active cases on Friday, the Department of Health reported.*
