
The number of health care workers (HCWs) in eight Negros Occidental provincial government-run hospitals who have tested positive for COVID 19 hit 136 on Friday, January 28, Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz said.
The COVID-19 positive HCWs at the Teresita L. Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City were 76 – seven doctors, 30 nurses, and six nursing attendants, a midwife, six medical technicians, seven Radtechs and 28 support staff.
The eight at the Cadiz District Hospital in Cadiz City are a doctor, six nurses, and a nursing attendant, and the 12 at the Lorenzo D. Zayco District Hospital in Kabankalan City are six nurses, three nursing attendants, two pharmacists and a support staff.
The Valladolid District Hospital in Valladolid town has 16 COVID-19 positive HCWs – a doctor, dentist, eight nurses, midwife, pharmacist and four support staff, hit at the Valeriano M. Gatustalo Memorial District Hospital in Himamaylan City are a pharmacist and a support staff, and eight at the Don Salvador Benedicto Memorial District Hospital in La Carlota City – two doctors, a dietitian, nurse, two medical technicians and two support staff.
Ten HCWs have also tested COVID-19 positive at the Ignacio L. Arroyo Memorial District Hospital in Isabela with one doctor, a dentist, five nurses and three support staff, and four at the Merceditas Memorial District Hospital in Sipalay City – two nurses, a medical technician and one support staff.*
