A couple died when their motorcycle was hit by a pickup truck at the highway in Purok Violetes, Brgy. Balingasag, Bago City, Negros Occidental, on Wednesday, Nov. 13.
Alex Ortega, 60, and his wife, Cecilia, 65, of Brgy. Balingasag died when their motorcycle was hit by a pickup truck driven by Cornelio Villaester Jr., 38, of Brgy. Mabini, Cadiz City, the police said.
Police said that while the couple on the motorcycle were trying to cross the road, the pickup accidentally hit them.
The couple were brought to the hospital but were declared dead on arrival, while the suspect is now under police custody.
The family of the victims will file charges against the suspect, the police said.*
