A man was arrested while an unlicensed firearm and ammunition were seized in a search warrant operation in Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental, on Thursday morning, April 16.
Police identified the suspect as alias “Mando,” 34, a resident of Brgy. Planas.
Authorities said the operation was conducted at around 6:23 a.m. by provincial intelligence and drug enforcement units with support from the local police.
Recovered from the suspect were a .45 caliber pistol, two magazines, a holster, and 11 rounds of live ammunition.
Investigation showed the operation stemmed from complaints that the suspect was allegedly brandishing and discharging a firearm, causing alarm among residents.
Police said verification confirmed that the suspect was not a licensed firearm holder, prompting authorities to secure a search warrant.
