The police seized P5.68 million worth of shabu in two buy-bust operations in the cities of Victorias and Kabankalan, Negros Occidental, on Tuesday, Dec. 10.
Ponciano Tanag, 47, Christian Tang, 24, and Artemio Aringgo, 37, were arrested and 800 grams of suspected shabu worth P5,440,000 was seized from them in Brgy. 2, Victorias City, the police reported.
The police also recovered an improvised tooter, a weighing scale, paper bills, and other non-drug items from them.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against them, the police said.
Two other individuals were also arrested in a buy-bust operation in Purok Kawayanan, Brgy. Hilamonan, Kabankalan City.
Arrested was Eugene Teorima, 36, the subject of the operation, and Nicol Tagamolila, 27, a high-value drug personality and alleged member of the Bugalon Drug Group, both of Kabankalan City, the police said.
Recovered from them were 20 sachets of suspected shabu weighing 35 grams worth P238,000, a 9mm pistol with live ammunition, drug paraphernalia, and other non-drug evidence, the police said.
The suspects will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 and R.A. 10591 or the Guns and Ammunition Regulations Act.*
