Cops seize P1.8M in shabu

About P1.8 million worth of suspected shabu was recovered by the police in separate buy-bust operations in the cities of Bacolod and Kabankalan, Negros Occidental, Thursday and Friday, Dec. 5 and 6.

Bacolod Drug Enforcement Unit operatives arrested Jamil Equibal and Eric Talabon in a buy-bust operation in Purok Sigay, Brgy. 2, Bacolod City, early Friday morning.

The police recovered from them 240 grams of suspected shabu valued at P1,632,000.

They are now under the custody of the Bacolod City Police Station 2.

The police also arrested a high-value drug personality and seized suspected shabu worth P170,000 in a buy-bust operation at a subdivision in Brgy. Talubangi, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, Thursday.

The police arrested alias “Ching”, 31, of Brgy. 6, Kabankalan.

Recovered from the suspect were 16 sachets of suspected shabu weighing 25 grams with estimated street drug price of P170,000, the police said.

The suspect is now under police custody and will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.*
