Cops seize P1.36M in shabu, arrest 8 suspects in Bacolod

The police arrested one high-value individual and seven street-level suspects in a drug operation that led to the confiscation of P1.36 million worth of suspected shabu in Barangay 2, Bacolod City, early Monday morning, Oct. 7.

Authorities identified the high-value target as alias “Lorence”, 22 years old, from Brgy. 2, Bacolod City.

Arrested along with him were seven others, all linked to the alleged illegal drug trade in the city.

The buy-bust operation was carried out around 4:41 a.m. by the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO).

Recovered from the suspects were about 200 grams of suspected shabu with a standard drug price of P1,360,000, along with marked money and other non-drug items.

The suspects were informed of their constitutional rights and are now detained at the CDEU office while facing charges for violations of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.*
