Cops ready raps vs. student for ‘molesting’ 17-year-old

Cases for violation of the Anti-Rape Law and Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Law will be filed against the minor who allegedly molested a 17-year-old girl, the police said on Wednesday, Dec. 13.

Capt. Glenn Montaño, Bacolod City Police Station 2 commander, said that the Women and Children Protection Desk is now preparing the affidavits for the filling of the cases within the week against the minor who was caught on video “molesting” the girl in a resto-bar at 17th-Lacson streets in Bacolod City on Dec. 8.

Cases for violation of Republic Acts 8353 and 7610 will be filed against the alleged perpetrator, who is a criminology student at a university in Bacolod. Montaño said that the suspect has already been expelled from the university.

The police said that they are also pursuing those who recorded and posted the video on social media as they can be charged for violation of the Anti-Voyeurism Act.

Montaño said that they are still investigating who among the companions of the suspect uploaded the video that showed the “molestation of the victim while she was asleep”.*
