A man tagged as “Mr. X” was identified by the police as an alleged drug personality on Tuesday, October 3, two days after he was shot dead in Brgy. Napoles, Bago City.
Bago City Police Chief, Lt. Col. Jay Malong, said that the victim found dead on Sunday was identified as Christopher Garde from Brgy. Libacao, Himamaylan City.
He said that police investigators traced where his motorcycle was bought that led to the identification of Garde by members of his family.
Garde’s family said he had a previous case for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act in 2019 but was freed after a plea bargaining agreement.
Malong said that on investigation of the victim’s body they found a tooter for drugs.
The victim was shot on his head, hand, and back and was rushed to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
The police are still following up some leads in order to identify the suspect.
A witness said he saw two individuals talking in the area of the incident and minutes after he passed them, he heard gunshots and saw a suspect wearing a helmet flee.*
