Cops have persons of interest in killing of two in Brgy Alijis

Bacolod Police Station 7 now has persons of interest who may be behind the death of two individuals, including a minor, at the Circumferential Road in Brgy. Alijis, early Thursday morning, January 25.

Police Station 7 commander, Capt. Andy Ofalla, told DIGICAST NEGROS that they are conducting a follow-up investigation on the shooting incident caused by unidentified suspects.

The victims were John Paul Montanio, 35, and Christopher Mondejar Jr., 16, of Brgy. Mansilingan, Bacolod City.

Ofalla said that the victims were traveling back to their residence when they were chased by the suspects on the road.

The police are looking at a personal grudge as one of the motives for the incident.

Montanio has a police record for illegal possession of firearms, and was alleged involved in some shooting and mauling incidents in Brgy. Mansilingan, the police said.

Once the suspects are identified, murder charges will be filed against them, Ofalla added.*
