Cops eye three anglesin shooting of brothers

The police are investigating three possible motives in the shooting incident that killed one man and injured his brother in Purok Active, Brgy. Mandalagan, Bacolod City, on Monday, Sept. 29.

Police Station 3 commander, Maj. Rondyl Tapang, said Tuesday that they are looking into possible links to the illegal drug trade, a commotion at a public market, and a suspected third-party issue.

Witnesses and relatives told police the victims had allegedly used illegal drugs in Barangay Villamonte prior to the incident.

Investigators are also probing a confrontation involving the victims and a parking boy at the Bacolod South Public Market, where they reportedly received threats afterwards.

Tapang added that the third angle, which involves “third-party issues,” remains inconclusive as investigations continue.

The victims, identified only by their aliases Harold and Harley of Barangay Mandalagan, were riding a motorcycle on their way home when they were attacked by suspects on board a red motorcycle without a plate number.

Harold died from a gunshot wound to the head, while Harley was brought to a hospital for treatment.

Police said CCTV footage from the area has been forwarded to the cybercrime office for image enhancement to help identify the suspects.*
