The policeman who died in a vehicular accident Monday morning was going home to Kabankalan City in Negros Occidental to visit his wife and his 5-month-old baby.
PCpl. Reden Agus, 31, died after his motorcycle was accidentally hit by a canter truck in Pontevedra at 2:15 a.m. on Monday.
Agus, who was assigned at the Iloilo Provincial Police Office, was part of the Philippine National Police augmentation force sent to help secure the MassKara Festival.
He wanted to visit his family before returning to his post.
His wife Geraldine Agus posted a photo of their wedding and baby on her Facebook page.
“My love, always remember Gavin and I love you. I cannot accept what happened, It is painful”, she wrote.
“Just guide Gavin and me, I love you always my forever buddy,” she added.
Bacolod Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez said he sent financial assistance and flowers to the policeman’s family.*
