A 37-year-old construction worker was injured after his neck was slashed during a drinking session in Sitio Moning, Brgy. Cabadiangan, Sipalay City, late Sunday night, Jan. 11.
The victim was identified as Mark Talaver, a resident of Brgy. 5, Sipalay City while the suspect as a 26-year-old construction worker from Sitio Moning, Brgy. Cabadiangan.
The Sipalay City Police Station said the incident happened at around 11:35 p.m. at the suspect’s residence.
Investigation showed the suspect confronted the victim after his wife allegedly complained that the victim touched her private part during the drinking session.
Police said the victim was immediately rushed to the Sipalay City Infirmary and is now in stable condition.
Authorities said the suspect voluntarily surrendered at around 1:30 a.m. on Monday and admitted to slashing the victim’s neck with a bolo.*
