The construction of the P300 million Cadiz City General Hospital at the reclamation area in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental, is set to start next year.

The detailed engineering study and cost analysis of the project has been completed and will be submitted to the Landbank of the Philippines for a loan, Mayor Salvador Escalante said on Tuesday, Dec. 19.

The hospital will initially have a 50-bed capacity and can increase to 100 beds later, he said.

Escalante said the hospital building will cost about P250 million and P50 million will be allotted for its equipment.

The hospital is targeted for completion in 14 months, he added.

Meanwhile, the 1,300 employees of the Cadiz City government will received P50,000 each in additional benefits this month, he said.

It is the largest the city government has given, he said, pointing out that the biggest amount the city given last year was P45,000 each.

The job order workers will receive P5,000 each, he added.*
