A huge crowd gathered for a concert on Friday, September 8, to raise seed money to start the construction of the St. Sr.Faustina Chapel, a sacristy, convent, and Divine Mercy Center in Brgy Goza, Talisay City, Negros Occidental.
The “An Evening of Mercy and Grace” concert held at the La Proa Ballroom of L’Fisher Hotel in Bacolod City was top billed by Asia’s timeless diva Dulce Llamedo, classic balladeer Marco Sison and charity diva Token Lizares with crooner John Ryan Englis, You Tube sensation Carl Malone Montecido and Kristine Tia.
The Divine Mercy group headed by Fr. Vince Nigel Camarines thanked all those who came and supported “the successful and very entertaining concert for a cause”.
A 5,000 square meter lot donated by a very godly family, who refuse to be named, to the Diocese of Bacolod will be used by the Apostles of the Divine Mercy as the site for the chapel, sacristy, convent, and Divine Mercy Center, Lizares said.
Camarines is the parish priest of the Divine Mercy in Calumanggan but their group needs a big center for their Divine Mercy mission, she said.
The St. Sr.Faustina Chapel will be a small replica of that one in Poland to attract more worshippers and Divine Mercy Devotees, she said.
The whole project is estimated to cost P65 million so after the concert more donations will still be needed, Lizares said.
Devotees of Divine Mercy who wish to donate cash or construction materials may call Fr. Camarines at 09162558020, Yolly Hilado at 09173000227 or Lizares at 09999483786.
Lizares said all proceeds raised from the concert for a cause will be the start off funds for the Divine Mercy projects.*
