The Commission on Elections (Comelec) registered 63,951 new voter applicants in the Negros Island Region (NIR) as of Thursday, August 7, for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE).
There were 7,234 new registrants in Negros Occidental on Thursday, bringing the total for the province to 39,098 on Day 7, NIR Regional Election Director Lionel Marco Castillano said.
The total registrants as of Day 7 in Negros Oriental were 22,770 and 2,083 in Siquijor.
Of the total NIR registrants 32,534 were female and 31,417 were male, Castillano said.
The 10-day registration period for BSKE voters will end on Sunday, August 10.*
