Commission on Elections chairman George Erwin Garcia will be in Bacolod City on Saturday, Sept. 14, for a demonstration of the new automated counting machine to be used in the mid-term elections.
Garcia will attend the Voters Education and Registration Fair at the University of St La Salle in Bacolod City, COMELEC-NIR Regional Director Lionel Marco Castillano said on Thursday.
A demonstration on how to vote using the new automated counting machine will be held during the fair, he said.
It has already been launched in other schools and areas in the Philippines, he said.
Castillano said demonstrations of the automated counting machines will also be held in towns and cities of Negros Occidental at the end of November.
The new automated counting machines are faster and more transparent, Castillano said.
The filing of the certificates of candidacy for the midterm elections will be from Oct. 1 to 8.*
