
The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) in Bacolod City has officially resumed full operations and is now accepting new patients.
“After successful infection control efforts, we are ready to provide safe, high-quality care for our mothers and newborns once again,” CLMMRH announced on Monday, Dec. 5.
The CLMMRH on Dec. 22 announced that its was temporarily limiting admissions of mother and child cases following a Candida auris outbreak in its NICU.
The NICU reopened to all patients effective January 1, the CLMMRH said.
“Enhanced Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) measures have successfully addressed previous concerns, ensuring a safe environment for mothers and newborns,” it said.
The NICU has moved beyond restricted “lifesaving only” admissions and are back to providing comprehensive tertiary care, it added.*
