A Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod committee will hold a hearing on the opposition of a property developer to the request of the Bacolod Real Estate Development Corporation (BREDCO) for a Resolution of No Objection (RONO) to its planned reclamation of an additional 25 hectares, Councilor Al Victor Espino said Wednesday, January 10.
The hearing on the opposition of Ritchie Corpus, Almana Property and Development Corporation (APDC) president and chief executive officer, will be conducted by the Committee on Laws, Ordinances and Good Government chaired by Espino.
“We will invite and hear both parties,” he said.
The SP during its regular session Wednesday also accepted the Committee on Laws’ report and recommendations on BREDCO’s intention to reclaim additional areas under the it’s re-engineering of its port operations.
Espino said the report calls for clarification from BREDCO on four requisites, which includes ownership of road lots.
“Our contention is if the road lots belong to the city why are they charging toll fees”, he said.
“We will not act on the RONO until they comply with our queries,” Espino said.*
