The 1,300 Bacolod City government employees will receive bonuses ranging from P47,517 to P148,891 before the year ends, Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez announced on Wednesday, November 16.

Benitez made the announcement after meeting with City Budget Officer Imelda Williams, Treasurer Arlene Memoria and Administrator Pacifico Maghari, following his return from COVID-19 self-isolation.

Bacolod City government regular, co-terminus, plantilla casual employees and retirees within the calendar year will receive a maximum Collective Negotiation Agreement (CNA) incentive of P25,000 each, Maghari said.

The CNA, granted by virtue of Budget Circular No. 2022-3, will be given not earlier than December 15.

Qualified employees will also receive Productivity Incentive Allowances, amounting to P5,000 each, a year-end bonus equivalent to one month’s salary and a cash gift amounting to P5,000 each that is currently being distributed.

He is set to meet with the representatives of the traditional jeepneys on Thursday to listen to their concerns and find ways to address them, Benitez also said.

On Friday a solid waste management meeting is also set to address the garbage situation, he said.

The aim is to convert at least 80 percent of Bacolod’s waste into fertilizer, building materials and other products, he said.*
