Circulo de Bacolod Foundation Inc. is holding the Santa Cruz de Mayo 2026, a Marian devotional and cultural celebration that unites faith, heritage, artistry, and community participation in Bacolod City, its president, Sandra Ruth F. Sycip, said Monday, May 4.

The celebration will be held on May 16, beginning with a Holy Mass at the San Sebastian Cathedral.

This will be followed by a solemn procession passing through Lacson Street and South Capitol Road, culminating at Ayala Malls Capitol Central, where the crowning of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Our Lady of Fatima, will take place.

The event seeks to revive and preserve the spiritual and cultural legacy of the traditional Santa Cruz de Mayo while showcasing the creativity and unity of the Negrense community.

Under the leadership of Project Committee Head John-John Ditching, the project was formally launched during a meeting with designers on January 21.

Twenty-eight designers from different cities across Negros are set to participate.

The project follows traditional church-based practices and research guidance provided by the Diocese through Msgr. Quijano, ensuring that the celebration remains rooted in authentic Catholic and Filipino heritage traditions.

The event is being held in partnership with the Diocese of Bacolod, Ayala Malls Capitol Central, John B. Lacson Colleges Foundation, and the Jamero family.*
