CHO: Free pneumonia, flu vaccination set at 2 malls

The Bacolod City Health Office (CHO) is continuing to provide free influenza and pneumonia vaccinations to vulnerable Bacolodnons.

The pneumonia and flu vaccinations will be administered at the Ayala Malls Capitol Central Activity Center and the Lopue’s East Centre Annex Lobby from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, January 5 and 6, respectively.

Pneumonia vaccines will be given to Bacolodnon senior citizens, while flu shots will be administered to individuals 18 years old and above through the city’s “Handog Pasasalamat sa mga Pamilyang Bacolodnon”.

Jamaica Gail Isidto , CHO Health Education and Promotion Officer Designate, said that the vaccines came from the Department of Health and priority is given to the vulnerable sectors, especially the elderly due to their weakened immune system.

Flu vaccination can be provided for those 18 and above living in government-run and Department of Social Welfare and Development-accredited residential care facilities, health care workers, pregnant women, adults with comorbidities, personnel providing frontline services such as military personnel, and others.*
