Carlos Hilado Memorial State University (CHMSU) will celebrate its 4th University Foundation Week starting Sunday, May 10, to May 16 across all four campuses.
Held under the theme “Honoring Our Past, Future-Proofing Our Journey to GREATness,” the week-long event reflects the institution’s deep roots and its forward-looking commitment to excellence, a press release from the university said Friday, May 8.
The celebration opens on Sunday with the All Roads Lead to CHMSU Fun Run at 4:30 a.m. at the Talisay Campus. The fun run at the Binalbagan Campus will begin at the Binalbagan Municipal Plaza, 5 a.m.
From May 11 to 15, the university will host a rich roster of activities, including the CHMSU PRIME Fiesta, the SDG Village Expo, Uni-Tindahan, and Daily Open Mic Sessions across all campuses.
May 12 features a Thanksgiving Mass, the blessing of the GAD Childminding and Breastfeeding Area in Binalbagan Campus, the blessing of the St. Padre Pio Grotto at the Talisay Main Campus, and the Paghanduraw: Balik CHMSU reunion reception for retirees and alumni in all university libraries.
The University Skills Fest takes center stage on May 13, followed by Physical Education and Wellness Day on May 14.
May 15 is packed with TABBEA Fellowship Games, Punsyon sa CHMSU, and culminates with the much-anticipated CASCA / ExCELSIOR Night — a grand cultural showcase bringing together all campuses at Talisay Campus. CASCA culmination showcases will also be held in the other campuses.
The week closes on May 16 with Bionihan and CHMSUyanihan, a community service initiative embodying the university’s spirit of giving back.
