3 Ceres Buses, AUV collide, 5 injured in San Enrique

Three Ceres buses and an AUV figured in a multiple collision and five people were injured at the highway in Purok Acacia, Brgy. Tabao Rizal, San Enrique, Negros Occidental, on Saturday, June 7.

Injured were Sarah Daguismol, 22 , of Brgy. Magballo, Kabankalan City; Roxanne Occeña, 24, of Brgy. Gil Montilla, Sipalay City; Geneva Dumip-ig, 24, of Brgy. Su-ay, Himamaylan City; Justine Lirazan, 23, of Brgy. 1, Ilog; and Michelle Villegas, 22, of Brgy. Hilamonan, Kabankalan, who are now in stable condition, the police said.

Police investigation revealed that the vehicles were going towards Brgy. Tabao Rizal when driver Glenn Tan, 34, of Brgy. Bantayan, Kabankalan. allegedly lost control of Ceres bus number 5295 causing it to hit the three other vehicles.

The other vehicles were Ceres bus number 5298 driven by Jenny Noquera, 43, of Brgy. Tagda, Hinigaran, Ceres bus number 5574 driven by Virgilio Fernandez, 55, of Brgy. Mandalay, Ilog, and a Mitsubishi Adventure driven by Arnel Lopez, 56, of Brgy. Luna, Cadiz City.

The Ceres management has already reached out to help those injured, and a settlement has been reached with the driver of the AUV, the police said.*
