CENECO rate increases by 72 centavos per kWh

The Central Negros Electric Cooperative announced on Friday, Nov. 17, that its electricity rate for November is P11.7448 per kilowatt-hour, P0.7211 higher than last month’s P11.0237.

Ceneco attributed the increase to the total Generation Charges in the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) which was up by P0.6417/kWH.

The pass-through charges equivalent to P10.5582/kWh of the total power rate include the Generation and Transmission charges, Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC)-approved adjustments, government subsidies, and taxes.

It also said that P1.1866/kWh of the power rate goes to CENECO through Distribution, Supply, Metering (DSM) Charges for its administrative and operational services, and Reinvestment Fund for Sustainable CAPEX (RFSC).

CENECO noted that the electricity rates had gone down for eight months, while the increases were in May and November only.*
