The Central Negros Electric Cooperative announced on Monday, Dec. 18, a 9-centavo per kilowatt-hour drop in its electricity rates this month.
CENECO said that electricity rates decreased by P0.9754/kWh from P11.7448/kWh in November to P10.7694/kWh in December.
CENECO attributed the current rates to the decrease of the total generation charges by 10.82 percent compared to previous month due to the drop in the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM) price by P1.6677/kWh, from P7.8781/kWh to P6.3205/kWh.
Meanwhile, CENECO was also awarded as the “Bakawan Award” during the First Gen’s Customers’ Appreciation Night on Dec. 7.
CENECO was awarded as the “Decarbonization Champion for the Year 2023” as First Gen’s partner in advocating a cleaner and greener world.
The plaque of recognition was received by CENECO President Dwight Carbon, Acting General Manager Arnel Lapore, and directors Ariel Guides, Jojit Yap, Antonino Panique and Nicanor Gerald Jison.
CENECO signed a 10-year power supply agreement with First Gen, one of the leading energy companies of renewable power in the Philippines on Aug. 8.*
