One person was killed while his brother was injured when unidentified persons shot them in Sitio Camansi, Purok 18, Brgy. Inayawan, Cauayan, Negros Occidental, on Wednesday, Jan. 15.
A 31-year-old man died while his 40-year-old brother was injured, the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) reported on Friday.
The police withheld their names.
Investigation revealed that the 40-year-old man was riding on a motorcycle driven by his friend when they were shot at by the suspects causing them to fall.
The 40-year-old man ran to his house but was chased by the suspects.
He victim took cover and proceeded to the back of his house. The suspects then forcibly opened the door of the house and shot his 31-year-old brother, the police said.
They were brought to the Cauayan District Hospital but the 31-year-old brother was declared dead on arrival.
The 40-year-old victim was transferred to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City due to a gunshot wound in his chest.*
