Green hearts and gentle hands joined in planting native Granada fruit trees in Barangay Granada, Bacolod City on Wednesday, July 7.The said activity was organized by the Barangay Granada Council and Children Optimization for the Revitalization of Environment (CORE) in collaboration with the Philippine Air Force (PAF) and Sowing Legacy Movement, Inc.The activity was a response to climate change mitigation which greatly affects the lives of every Filipino and to promote green spaces and urban parks.Elmeer Meeynard Calimpos, founder and executive director of CORE, said it’s high time to encourage young people in Bacolod City to engage in youth-led climate action such tree growing initiatives as a natural climate solution.Allen Jake Talimodao, a public school teacher, likewise ...
